Tried to log into my Comcast account to check my account this weekend and discovered that I had forgotten my password. No problem...click the forgot password link and go through the email password reset drill, right?

Wrong! Comcast's site suggests re-creating my user profile instead. And when I do try to re-create the profile, it complains that the profile already exists. Well, DUH!

I cannot believe this stupidity. To make matters worse, I called the Customer Service number and described the problem. The first thing they asked me is why I didn't try to reset my password. Sheesh!

One of annoyances on XP and Windows Server 2003 is the appearance delay of the "Send To" menu because it does insane things like look for the presence of a floppy drive. You can eliminate the delay by following the detailed instructions here.

After seeing someone post "here, here" in the ASP.Net forums for the umpteenth time, I had to find a way to vent my feelings about this annoyance. So I have decided to add a new category to my blog called "Annoyances" where I can discuss some of the things that annoy me.

The correct spelling of the phrase is "Hear, hear!" Quite different from calling someone to come to you, which is exactly what "here, here" is all about.

"Hear, hear" originated in the British parliament in the 18th century as a contraction of "hear him, hear him."

I will save another annoyance -- "their" versus "there" -- for another day.
