At the height of the dot-com boom, I founded a venture-funded startup called iWidgets.com. My vision was to have mini-apps called "widgets" that you could plug into web portals that were all the rage at the time. Unfortunately, the market was not ready for widgets back in 1999, and when the stock market took a dive a couple of years later, so did my company.

Fast-forward to present day and there is a new iWidgets.com site created by someone else. Here's how eHub describes it:

Create custom widgets for your website or your brand with iWidget. Using their online wizard, you can easily create widgets that your website visitors or customers can add to their iGoogle start page, Facebook profile, or their own blog. Your widget is customizable by your users so that it fits right in with their design.

It felt very strange seeing the site...sort of like seeing someone else wearing your favorite shirt. I spent some time on the site playing with their tools and was very, very impressed. Great job iWidgets.com team, wish you much success.

Lani - Nik's company was closed down several years ago and no longer exists. Nik has long since moved on to working with DotNetNuke and DotNetNuke Corporation. iWidgets.com is a new company who is recreating Nik's original vision. I very much doubt that it is using any of Nik's old code since so much has changed in the last 5 years.

Hi Nik, thanks so much for the kind words! Your vision of widgets was definitely prescient... the market has finally caught up. I hope that we at the new iWidgets continue to impress you. iWidgets.com is such a great name, way better than "wdgtbldr" which was our stealth name! Best wishes, Peter

Hello Nik

My name is sam kurien and we use DNN extensively and are great fans of the core technology you developed.

We are currently doing some work for a contractor who recently is BSing us that DNN cannot be used for military webistes and is essentially blacklisted. He is the PM for this project and right in final execution phase he is trying to pull the plug based on that reason.

However I haven't found any evidence that the DNN framework cannot be used and there are security holes. Would you be able to give us some references of military sites that use DNN or point us to the right direction where there is evidence that DNN is used in some way by the Dept of Defense, military or any other military goverment agencies.

Thank you for all your work and we highly appreciate what you do for the DNN community.

Also we would like info on when deliveringa goverment based project how can we take copyright info and show we are going to use DNN technology in parts to implement a solution.

Any help is highly appreciated. You can also reach me at skurien@nimbusoft.com

Helo Everybody,
I am new into DotNetNuke. I would like to enquire about the SingleSignOn funda of DotNetNuke. My requirement is like if a user is registered for some Portal named A and i want that user also to log in into Portal B. Without registering that user again. So is it possible to do that...???
